Terms of Service

1. Service Description

ParentMap is an educational assessment platform for homeschool families, available in free and premium tiers. We provide placement tests across 5 subjects (Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies) for children ages 4-18, along with personalized improvement plans and practice quizzes. Our service is designed as a supplementary educational tool and is not affiliated with any school, district, or government entity.

2. User Accounts

Accounts are created and managed through Clerk, our authentication provider. You may sign up using Google or email/password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Each account is intended for use by one parent or guardian to manage their family's educational assessments. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

When using ParentMap, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any purpose other than educational assessment for your family.
• Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the platform's security.
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract content from the platform.
• Misrepresent assessment results as official academic credentials or certified evaluations.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on ParentMap — including test questions, assessment algorithms, improvement plans, and the platform design — is owned by ParentMap and protected by copyright. You may print or share your children's individual results for personal educational use, but you may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use our content, questions, or assessment methodology.

5. Educational Disclaimer

ParentMap provides educational assessments as a guide for homeschool families. Our placement results are informational and should not be considered a substitute for professional educational evaluation, psychological assessment, or clinical diagnosis. We are not a school, and our assessments do not confer academic credits, grades, or certifications. Always consult qualified educational professionals for formal evaluations.

6. Limitation of Liability

ParentMap is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any educational decisions made based on our assessment results. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of our assessments for any particular purpose. Our total liability for any claims arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero for free accounts).

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For significant changes, we will notify you via email.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any disputes arising from the use of ParentMap shall be resolved in the courts of Colombia.
